Julia Sørensen Shaw draws inspiration from the poetry of moments in nature and undisturbed spaces. This inspiration weaves seamlessly into her work, reflecting the profound truth that nothing organic manifests exactly the same way twice.
Working across mediums, Julia employs tools from drawing, painting, sculpture, and installation art, creating works that fill gallery spaces with an overwhelming array of color, texture, and forms. Her sculpting materials, such as pumice gel and joint compound, build up the surface of her paintings, capturing a topographical notion that echoes the unpredictability of nature.
Bold and dramatic, Julia's color choices command attention, infusing life into her works. Her artistic process is not just a visual journey but a physical one. With every stroke, she translates the movement of her own body, permeating emotion and releasing physical tension onto the canvas.
In the realm of Julia Sørensen Shaw, no two pieces are alike. Her materials manifest in unique ways, rendering each creation an irreplaceable work of art. It's this intrinsic unpredictability that makes her portfolio a celebration of the singular and a testament to the impossible replication of artistic expression. Join us in exploring the world of Julia Sørensen Shaw, where each creation is a journey, and every stroke tells a story.
